Pursuit College Ministry has an upcoming retreat! We're going to watch five video copies of the sessions from the national 2008 Desiring God Conference that was hosted in Minneapolis back in late September.

Richard Land is coming to Trinity Baptist Church on October 5 and to the University of Oklahoma the next day. October 5 is a Sunday, and Richard Land will be speaking on both Sunday morning and evening. He will be discussing the idea of a values voter - a voter who prioritizes certain values as moral imperatives or otherwise.

Trinity Baptist Church will be hosting a worldview conference on Sunday, September 28, from 5:30 to 9:30pm. Worldview is a word that refers to the way a person views the world from their most foundational assumptions to how those assumptions are lived out in their lives. The Christian worldview rests on the assumption of God's existence, his attributes, how humanity relates to him, etc. The conference highlights the contradictions between the Christian worldview and its primary rival in modern America, humanist secularism.

We're having a watch party on Saturday at 6:00pm at Donnie and Lori Martin's house (Directions) for the away game at Washington. Come on over, hang out, and watch some OU football, even if you can't stay the whole time!

So we were going to have a Back to School Party this weekend, but last night we find out that the Baptist Student Union was already going to have a tailgate party at Reaves Park at 6pm. So instead of having our own event this Friday we'll just join the BSU. They'll have food, games, contests, etc. and the cost is the same as it would have been - a requested donation of $2. Also, the BSU is bringing in a former OU defensive tackle named Carl Pendleton.

We're going to be having a party at Reaves Park (Directions) on Friday night around 7pm! We'll have grilled burgers and hot dogs, some lemonade, and importantly, several gallons of Red Diamond tea. We'll be playing football and/or frisbee, too. The cost to attend is $2.

So come on down to Reeves Park Friday, bring a couple bucks, and be ready to have some fun after the second week of class.

Join us this semester - starting Tuesday at 8:00pm - for Pursuit on Tuesday Nights, where we're going through an excellent bible study.
